Geothermal Heating & Cooling
Geothermal heating and cooling best applies to residential buildings and commercial applications with balanced or simultaneous heating and cooling demand. Dr Amir Kivi has a PhD in geothermal engineering from The University of Melbourne, and he is one of only two certified geothermal designers in Australia with more than 7 years’ experience on more than 40 geothermal projects.
Solar Thermal Systems for Space Heating & Cooling and Hot Water
Geoflow Australia Pty Ltd has partnered with Savosolar from Finland, who manufacture the most efficient solar thermal collectors in the World. Solar thermal systems best apply to applications with high heating or cooling demand. We focus mainly on large-scale applications, such as heating greenhouses, poultry farms and dairy farms which have heating as one of their major costs.
Building Energy Modelling/Energy Assessment
For all projects, it is critical to first determine the hourly energy demand for the building/application. Geoflow Australia Pty Ltd only suggests energy solutions that will provide the best real-world return on investment.
For new buildings, we use specialist 3D building modelling software to calculate the hourly heating and cooling load. For existing buildings, we use the hourly meter data to assess the energy demand. The data is then used in the design and feasibility assessment of a range of renewable energy solutions for the building.
The hourly energy demand data is also used to provide compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and to deliver an ESD report.
Feasibility Studies: We assess the real-world cost savings from implementing a range of potential renewable energy solutions, to ensure that the client makes the best decision for their energy-saving investment.

He has got his Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University and he is member of Australian Institute of Management, chartered member of Institute of Marketing and Volunteer member of Coast Guard Australia.

He has been accredited as a geothermal designer and installer by IGSHPA and AEE – the peak international organization responsible for the standards and manuals for geothermal systems. He has also been involved in the design and installation of more than 50 high-efficiency geothermal heating/cooling solutions in Australia.
Dr Kivi is also an energy assessor and provides Energy Rating Assessments, Commercial Energy Rating Assessments (Section J) and energy efficiency assessments for the purpose of Building Code of Australia, Deemed to Satisfy (DTS) assessments.
